Former Brewing Company Employee Arrested for Stealing Rare Beers Article

A Boulder Beer Bandit proved he had a very good taste in beer when he stole more than $15,000 worth of rare and vintage brews. This is not an ice-cold case.

Adam James Dickinson, 26,  was arrested for stealing cases of expensive beer from the Avery Brewing Company where he worked from April 2012 until he was fired in October.  He was arrested at his new workplace in Fort Collins.

Police recovered more than 570 bottles of beer at Dickinson’s home.  Among the expensive bottles recovered were some cases of Isabelle Proximus, Duck Duck Gooze, Rogue Old Crustacean, and a bottle of 2001 Rogue Old Crustacean Barley Wine. The prices ranged from $100 to $300 a bottle.

Reports say some bottles were not recovered because Dickinson had sold them on E-bay or gave them away as gifts.  His boss at his new workplace said he received several bottles of Black Tot Barrel-Aged Oatmeal Stout and bottles of Sui Generis Barrel-Aged Sour Ale.  Both are estimated to be worth $300/bottle.

Dickinson is being held at Larimer County Jail with a bail set at $5,000.
