British Professor Scratches Polite Graffiti In Cars Article

Four luxury car owners woke up one day to find their cars scratched with bizarrely polite graffiti.

Rather than the usual swear words, the vandal chose to scratch mild insults. Phrases such as ‘very silly’, ‘really wrong’ and ‘arbitrary’ were scrawled in expensive cars including a Mercedes, an Audi, a Volvo and a Mitsubishi.

Stephen Graham, a 47-year-old British professor, was arrested and admitted to scratching the cars using a screwdriver.

The Newcastle University professor specializing in cities and urban life lives near the street where the vandalism took place.

He claimed he had no recollection of what he did, blaming alcohol, antibiotics and other medication for his behavior.

The damage it caused was worth £18,000.
