Man Convicted for Threatening President Obama on Facebook Article

Another Facebook fail!

A Melbourne man will be sent to jail after posting threats to kill U.S. President Barack Obama on Facebook days before the November election.

Christopher Castillo hds reportedly posted a comment saying, “That’s the last straw, if he gets re-elected I’m going to hunt him down and kill him watch the life disappear from his eyes.”

The U.S. Secret Service learned about the provocative statements posted online and visited Castillo, who admitted he made the comments.

“(Castillo) was given every opportunity to back down and say it was a joke and he never (backed down),” an Assistant U.S. Attorney said. “It wasn’t sarcasm. It was a threat to kill the president.”

“Mr. Castillo is not an assassin,” his attorney said. Castillo went through a rough time in his life when he made the statements, often saying things out of rage that he does not really mean. He even had recently attempted suicide.

The federal jury found him guilty and Castillo will be sentenced on April 26.
