Looks like London’s government district got more action than Soho when a man climbed naked onto the Duke of Cambridge’s statue around noon.
The nudist, Dan Motrescu, shocked central London while transforming it into a peep show, as he mounted the 19th-century bronze statue, ripped off its sword and balanced on its head. Police scrambled to cordon off Whitehall, a street that is home to several governmental departments, as Motrescu performed his full monty gig and wobbly poses.
It took several hours of naked stunts before the police could talk him down.
Motrescu, believed to be a Ukranian citizen in his 30’s or 40’s, has been convicted Tuesday of possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and a public order offense.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail by a magistrate at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
